Our
babies are literally made from our bodies. So when we are pregnant
or thinking of becoming pregnant it is essential that we eat
better than ever. Good nutrition in pregnancy improves positive
outcomes for both mothers and babies. Eating well is also essential
once the baby arrives. Good nutrition after birth can help to
keep hormone levels balanced which can decrease chances of depression,
increase energy, improve the baby's health and help with healthy
weight loss.
About
Katie:
Katie has been working to support healthy pregnancies
and babies for many years. After witnessing her first birth,
she was drawn to the work of honoring a woman’s transition
through pregnancy, birth and her role as a new mama. She is
a prenatal yoga teacher, a birth and post-partum doula and most
recently she received her certification from Bauman College
as a Nutrition Educator. While enrolled in school and pregnant
herself, she did extra research on nutrition for the childbearing
time to inform her choices and continues to learn and gather
information to help support healthy families. She is also a
mother to a 2 year old daughter who loves to eat.
