Yoga Movement/Special Workshops

We provide a variety of yoga classes, all of which help strengthen and vitalize attachment to stressful day-to-day events and aid participants in developing a sense of calm, composure and a feeling of refreshment.

Yoga is a 5,000-year-old system of integrating the body, mind and spirit. It involves eight stages or "limbs" which inlcude asana (physical postures), Dhyama Yoga (meditation), Pranayama (breath control), Dharana (concentration), Pratyahara (sense withdrawal) and other aspects of "right living."

A Hatha Yoga practice helps develop concentration, muscle tone, flexibility, strength and balance, as well as helping reduce the emotional effects of stress. A consistent yoga practice will also help the body's own healing processes to operate more effectively.

Yoga classes range from gentle stretching and relaxation to vigorous strength-building and aerobic exercises.

Other Movement Activities (Sometimes Offered)

Body Awareness : An enjoyable and mindful access to natural movement, rhythm, spatial skills and sound body alignment, as well as strength, flexibility, and coordination.
